Guitar Building

In this project (2013-2015) I decided to design a 7-string electric guitar from scratch.

First, I designed the logo with GIMP, which later became the official logo for my musical solo-project Fallen, Eaten Alive, Tender. Then, I started researching into the best pieces available on the market, which includes mechanical parts like the Floyd rose, machine heads, truss rod, etc as well as inboard electronics. Then, in Greece I spend a week at Θαναση Κουλουρη’s wood-workshop to cut the wood, which is a 10-year-old native Mahogany from Corfu. The black coating is coffin paint from a Luxembourgish business and the design was done by aerography by a UK-based artist. In addition to classical guitar electronics, I mounted an onboard compressor/limiter providing 30dB of gain addition to a mixing desk switch allowing to switch the usual 5 pickup combinations between parallel and in series.

The guitar can be heard in my latest (2021) release “Tell Me Why”, especially during the solo from 6:03 on.
